The Disastrous First Bus Ride

I remember the day I decided to take the bus for the very first time. It was supposed to be a simple journey from my house to the city center, but little did I know that it would turn into a comedy of errors. As I waited at the bus stop, I checked the schedule multiple times to make sure I was on the right route. When the bus finally arrived, I eagerly got on, only to realize that I had forgotten to bring any change for the fare. The driver gave me a puzzled look as I frantically searched my pockets for coins. After managing to scrounge up just enough change, I plopped into the nearest seat, relieved that the worst was behind me. But as the bus started moving, I felt a sudden lurch and heard a loud pop. To my horror, I realized that my backpack had gotten stuck in the door as it closed, and now I was being dragged along the street like a tin can tied to the bumper. Passersby stared in disbelief as I yelled for the driver to stop, but he couldn't hear me over the roar of the engine. Finally, with a screech of brakes, the bus came to a halt, and I tumbled off, covered in dirt and embarrassment. As I picked myself up and dusted off, I couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of the situation. Despite the mishaps, I had survived my first bus ride, and it was definitely a journey I would never forget. From that day on, I made sure to always double-check my change and keep a safe distance from closing doors.
