Tet holiday, also known as the Lunar New Year, is one of the most important holidays in Vietnam. It is a time for family reunions, delicious food, and traditional customs. In this passage, I will share my memorable Tet holiday experience. Last year, I invited my extended family to celebrate Tet at my house. It was a special occasion as we hadn't gathered together for a long time. The preparations started weeks in advance, with my parents and I cleaning the house and decorating it with colorful flowers and traditional ornaments. We wanted to create a warm and festive atmosphere for our guests. On the eve of Tet, we had a big family dinner. The table was filled with a variety of traditional dishes, such as banh chung (sticky rice cake), nem ran (spring rolls), and mut (candied fruits). We enjoyed the meal while sharing stories and laughter. After dinner, we lit firecrackers and watched the fireworks display in the neighborhood. It was a magical moment, with the sky filled with colorful lights and the sound of laughter and joy. The next morning, we woke up early to pay respects to our ancestors. We gathered around the family altar, offering incense, fruits, and other offerings. It was a solemn and meaningful moment, as we expressed our gratitude and asked for blessings for the new year. After the ceremony, we exchanged lucky money, a traditional custom where the older generation gives red envelopes filled with money to the younger ones. It was a joyful moment, as we received blessings and good wishes from our elders. Throughout the Tet holiday, we visited relatives and friends, exchanging greetings and well wishes. We played traditional games like bai choi and enjoyed performances of lion dances and traditional music. We also took the opportunity to visit pagodas and temples, praying for a prosperous and peaceful year ahead. In conclusion, my Tet holiday was a memorable experience filled with love, joy, and traditions. It was a time for family bonding, delicious food, and cultural celebrations. I am grateful for the opportunity to celebrate Tet with my loved ones and create lasting memories. Tet is truly a special time of the year, where we can reflect on the past and look forward to a bright future.
